Pay rate: $20 TO 23/HR

Duration : 12 weeks

Position Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our team, with a focus on Tax Exempt entities. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing Form 990 , supporting tax accountants in compliance activities, and handling all aspects of tax documentation and reporting. Experience with EPIC systems and/or the healthcare or nonprofit industry is highly desirable and will be a strong consideration in compensation and role level.

Minimum qualification is at the Accountant level , but we are open to more experienced professionals depending on their background—particularly if they bring EPIC system knowledge or extensive tax-exempt industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate tax records, returns, schedules , and supporting workpapers
• Prepare and assist with Form 990 and other filings related to tax-exempt organizations
• Collaborate with tax accountants and other professionals to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Organize and manage tax documents, correspondence, and reporting for audits and internal review
• Perform financial calculations with speed and accuracy
• Provide analytical support to interpret financial data and tax implications
• Research tax issues related to exempt organizations and support the resolution of inquiries
• Assist in projects involving EPIC data , financial reporting, and system-based tax analysis (if applicable)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Associate degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Prior experience in Tax Exempt organizations and preparing Form 990 strongly preferred
• Familiarity with standard accounting and tax practices within the tax-exempt sector
• Experience with EPIC systems is a significant advantage
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools
