About Launch SA: Launch SA, a partnership between the City of San Antonio and Geekdom, serves as an anchor for the city’s small business ecosystem and provides support for entrepreneurs at all stages of direction, education, mentorship, and community. Its main location is in the Central Library in downtown San Antonio.
About Geekdom : Geekdom is a collaborative startup community focused on building San Antonio one startup at a time. We are the epicenter of innovative startups located deep in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Texas. We empower entrepreneurs to cultivate, shape, and grow new ideas into viable businesses that are ready for the next level of growth.
We are a small team doing huge things and we are looking to expand our team with some Part-Time Business Advisor for Launch SA.
Role Summary:
We’re adding two (2) Part-Time Business Advisors to join our team. You’ll serve as a frontline guide for small-business owners and entrepreneurs, providing 1-on-1 assistance on business needs to include strategy, operational challenges, new business /start-up needs, access-to-capital support, and general resource navigation. Advisors also host several topic-driven workshops each month, drawn from trends we see in client needs.
Schedule & Location: ~20-25 hrs/week, weekdays with occasional evenings, on-site at Launch SA (downtown Central Library).
Term : One-year contract position – part-time, with potential for renewal
Key Responsibilities
1-on-1 Advising
• Conduct intake meetings, needs assessments, and regular follow-ups
• Document interactions and outcomes in our CRM
Ongoing Client Support
• Track milestones, provide continued guidance, and surface relevant resources as needs evolve
Resource Navigation
• Connect clients to the right mix of resources based on their business needs—whether that’s funding, mentorship, training, or operational support.
• Connect clients to the best-fit partner in our network for any specialized needs.
Workshop & Event Facilitation
• Plan and host 2–3 workshops, roundtables, or panels each month on high-demand topics (examples - marketing on a budget, hiring your first employee, understanding cash flow)
• Gather attendee feedback to refine future sessions
Qualifications:
Compensation: This contract position is part-time (20–25 hours per week). The hourly rate ranges from $29 to $38 per hour.
