Job Description

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a long-established, nationally profiled legal organisation operating at scale within the U.S. commercial landscape. Recognised among the country’s leading full-service firms, they bring decades of institutional expertise supporting enterprise clients through sophisticated transactions, regulatory frameworks, and high-visibility disputes.

With several hundred lawyers and professionals across multiple offices, the firm enables end-to-end legal support across more than 90 disciplines. Their client portfolio spans major corporates, financial institutions, healthcare entities, technology innovators, and emerging growth companies. Their operating model emphasises partnership, solution design, and a culture that values collaboration, diversity of thought, and sustained community impact.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Charleston office is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate to strengthen its high-performing real estate practice. This individual will operate as a strategic advisor across a broad spectrum of commercial real estate matters, handling both transactional and advisory mandates.

The remit includes navigating acquisitions, sales, capital placements, secured lending, joint-venture structures, leasing strategies, development activity, and land-use considerations. The role cuts across both investor and lender ecosystems, requiring fluency in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex agreements while also supporting zoning, entitlement, tax-assessment challenges, and housing-related regulatory matters.

TARGET PROFILE

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Eligibility for South Carolina Bar admission (preferred)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience within commercial real estate law
  • Demonstrated track record handling sophisticated transactions with limited oversight
  • Strong grounding in real estate finance, land-use matters, zoning workflows, and entitlement strategies
  • Experience partnering with developers, financial institutions, institutional investors, and joint-venture partners
