Job Description

Indirect Tax Analyst

As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with U.S indirect tax regulations, with a primary focus on sales and use tax. You will support the company’s tax compliance, reporting, and audit functions, and work cross-functionally with finance, procurement, and business teams in a dynamic, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and file indirect tax returns (sales and use, property, business & occupation, and other transaction-based taxes) for multiple jurisdictions
  • Analyze and reconcile tax data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of filings.
  • Research and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations; communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support indirect tax audits, respond to inquiries from tax authorities, and assist with documentation requests.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable/receivable teams to ensure correct tax treatment on invoices and transactions.
  • Maintain and update exemption certificates and manage compliance documentation.
  • Assist in implementing tax planning strategies to minimize risk and optimize tax positions.
  • Participate in process improvements and system enhancements related to indirect tax compliance.
  • Support the Tax Manager or Director of Tax with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in indirect tax, with a strong focus on sales and use tax compliance.
  • Experience with multi-state tax filings and working knowledge of relevant tax software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience supporting tax audits and working with external advisors is a plus.
  • CPA or Master’s in Taxation is a plus, but not required.
