We are currently looking for a self-motivated Plant Transformation Lab Technician to join our group. The candidate will work on plant transformation and tissue culture supporting the research dicot lab. This is a hands-on, lab-based role which requires the ability to concentrate, pay attention to details, work efficiently both independently and collaboratively, troubleshoot to develop effective solutions when problems occur and maintain organized records of work, project data and other information as needed.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor or Associate Degree in Biology, Microbiology or a related field
2. Knowledge of aseptic techniques, as well as general understanding and application of scientific principles, theories, and concepts
3. Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
4. Excellent planning, organization, and execution skills
5. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member
6. Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
7. Strong communication skills, both written and oral
8. Energy, self-motivation, ownership, and focused execution
9. Previous experience with plant tissue culture and transformation methods in an industry setting is preferred
10. Experience with light and fluorescent microscopy is preferred
