This role integrates the technical functions of litigation coordination with the strategic accountability of a liability claims manager, supporting external counsel, Third Party Administrators (TPAs), and internal teams such as Finance and Ground & Rail operations. The ideal candidate will have experience driving operational effectiveness and improving claim lifecycle outcomes through data-informed decisions.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Act as primary litigation support for insured claims (e.g., trucking accident litigation), overseeing claim lifecycle and litigation developments.
  • Coordinate with TPAs to ensure compliance with service agreements, financial reserve accuracy, and settlement authority procedures.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel on litigation strategy, including document preservation, discovery coordination, deposition scheduling, and trial preparation.
  • Lead strategic audits and litigation file reviews to evaluate efficiency, cost management, and legal outcomes.
  • Aggregate and analyze claims metrics, actuarial forecasts, reserve data, and quarterly risk performance reports.
  • Create workflows to ensure proper and timely incident reporting from field representatives and integration with external claim platforms.
  • Collaborate with finance and business units to validate loss reserves and ensure appropriate accrual reporting.
  • Partner with executive and operational leadership to design mitigation strategies, cost reduction initiatives, and benchmark tools.
  • Prepare litigation dashboards and executive presentations synthesizing liability trends, claim valuation, and external performance metrics.\

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Paralegal certification or Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment or insurance claims setting, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Familiarity with claims lifecycle, including TPA management and actuarial collaboration.

Preferred:

  • Experience with multinational corporations.
  • Experience with litigation involving trucking or general liability claims.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-jurisdictional litigation coordination and/or claims oversight.
  • Prior exposure to actuarial practices related to forecasting, reserving, or budgeting.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with claims systems (e.g., RiskConnect, Stars).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and autonomous.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with legal databases, reporting tools, and litigation tracking systems.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to synthesize complex legal issues for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to streamline litigation data and transform insights into tactical improvements.
  • Familiarity with legal tech platforms and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated initiative in creating knowledge-sharing resources or legal templates.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

  • Clear and concise reporting with the ability to present to executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact effectively with finance, legal, and insurance professionals across geographies
  • Autonomous, efficient, and process-driven.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and documentation skills.
  • Confident and professional presence in executive-level discussions.
