Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Registered Nurse - Cath Lab to join our partner facility in Ottumwa, IA. This role is ideal for a critical thinker and patient-centered nurse passionate about cardiac care, interventional procedures, and delivering excellent outcomes in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

As a Cath Lab RN , you will be an integral part of a specialized team that provides life-saving diagnostic and interventional cardiac care. From assisting with catheterizations and angioplasties to ensuring patients are safely monitored pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, you will utilize your clinical expertise and calm demeanor in high-stakes situations. Your contributions help prevent and treat some of the most serious cardiovascular conditions.

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care throughout all phases of the cardiac catheterization process

• Monitor and assess patients' condition during diagnostic and interventional procedures

• Administer medications and moderate sedation under physician supervision

• Collaborate with cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and cardiovascular technologists

• Prepare patients and equipment, maintain sterile technique, and ensure adherence to procedure protocols

• Document care and procedural data accurately within electronic health records (EHR)

• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and cardiac health management

• Participate in emergency procedures including STEMI activations and cardiac code responses

• Active RN license in Iowa or multistate compact license authorizing Iowa practice

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications - American Heart Association

• Active Iowa RT(R) license or Paramedic license in Iowa

• Must hold one of the following credentials:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

  • Certified Paramedic License in Iowa

• Previous Cath Lab or interventional radiology nursing experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of cardiac medications, electrophysiology, and hemodynamic monitoring

• Ability to remain composed under pressure and respond quickly to emergent situations

• Competency with digital imaging, EPIC or similar EHR systems, and cath lab monitoring equipment

• Contribute to life-saving cardiovascular care in an advanced interventional suite
