Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Safety Manager with a strong background in rigging and construction safety to lead our safety program across multiple job sites. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and promoting a culture of safety in high-risk environments. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of safety management experience, including at least 5 years in rigging operations, and hold advanced safety certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs across construction and industrial projects
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments with a focus on rigging and heavy equipment operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, including OSHA 502 and other applicable regulations
  • Serve as an OSHA Instructor or coordinate training sessions as needed
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, including JHAs, SDSs, and training records
  • Provide hands-on safety training for field crews, including rigging best practices and hazard awareness
  • Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to integrate safety into daily operations
  • Supervise and mentor safety team members and support staff
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, recognition, and accountability

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction or industrial safety management
  • 5+ years of rigging experience in heavy civil, industrial, or utility environments
  • Certification in OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technologist) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) preferred
  • Completion of OSHA 502 or equivalent instructor-level training
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and industry-specific safety standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to job sites and work in field conditions as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software
