Job Title: Systems Analyst

Location: Smithfield RI

Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Analyst to join one of our agile development squads to provide analytical excellence in building and maintaining data in enterprise database platforms. The data infrastructure is going through significant growth, and this is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping data capabilities in this area. The work involves gathering requirements, data analysis, solution design, and production rollout activities on data lakes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document objectives, use cases, requirements, and specifications for database and data projects.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to research, document, and model existing and future systems.
  • Conduct source-to-target data mappings and support ETL workflows.
  • Design and implement dimensional models and star schemas for reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and other squads, actively participating in design discussions.
  • Translate technical needs into clear requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work on large-scale database creation, from MDM sources to modeling, and support backend database projects.
  • Support production rollout activities for enterprise data platforms.

Required Expertise and Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience with business-critical, enterprise-wide data applications.
  • Expert-level SQL (daily hands-on work in data).
  • Strong scripting experience in Python.
  • Proven track record with data modeling (dimensional modeling, star schemas).
  • Experience with Snowflake and exposure to AWS S3 and Oracle.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to research and document systems.
  • Experience with ETL projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work across multiple teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban, SCRUM) is a plus.
