Job Description

NOVA Engineering is hiring a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Materials Lab Technician in our Locust Grove, GA office on the south side of Atlanta. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests on concrete and aggregate materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Job Duties:

  • Perform tests on concrete and construction materials (soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, etc) to determine its physical and engineering properties.
  • Prepare concrete samples for testing according to ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project-specific standards.
  • Accurately record test results and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working condition.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Compile test data into comprehensive reports and communicate findings to project managers and engineers.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Preferred Certifications:

  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) certifications are preferred (Strength Testing, Aggregate, Base Testing, etc)
  • GDOT and ICC certifications are also a huge plus
