Title: Defect Tester
Location: Dallas, TX – onsite!
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Must Haves:
• Proven experience as a Test Manager – Ability be hands on technical but also functional (advise and offer solutions)
• Experience with Defect Management everything around and up to the release, and various testing phases (Know basics on testing phases)
• Solid understanding of the full testing lifecycle – Pre-Production testing, UAT Testing, Production Validation, Regression Testing
• Proficiency in Jira and Xray (-Managed projects and testing phases, would you know how to set up and manage test cases?)
• Excellent communication, willingness to wear multiple hats, eager to contribute to a great culture
• Comfortable with going onsite in Dallas 5 days per week
Day to Day:
A leading Beer and Spirits Distributor is looking for highly skilled and motivated Test Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manual testing, defect management, release management, stakeholder engagement, test environment setup, traceability, reporting, and various testing phases including UAT, system testing, and production testing. Proficiency in Jira and Xray is essential. They are looking for someone that can wear multiple hats and showcase previous successful engagements. Some of the key responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
• Defect Management: Oversee the identification, documentation, and resolution of defects. Ensure timely communication and follow-up with development teams.
• Release Management: Coordinate and manage software releases, ensuring all testing phases are completed and issues are resolved before deployment.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on testing strategies and outcomes.
• Test Environment Setup: Manage the setup and maintenance of test environments to ensure they are ready for various testing phases.
• Traceability: Ensure traceability of requirements through test cases and defects, maintaining comprehensive documentation.
• Reporting: Generate and present detailed test reports, including metrics on test coverage, defect status, and overall quality.
• UAT Testing: Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing, ensuring that the system meets business requirements and is ready for production.
• System Testing: Conduct thorough system testing to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Production Testing: Oversee testing in the production environment to ensure stability and performance post-deployment.
• Tools Management: Utilize Jira and Xray for test case management, defect tracking, and reporting
