Senior Superintendent – Ground Up / Upfit / Remodel Retail Construction

The Role You Will Play

Due to ongoing and upcoming retail projects, this company is seeking multiple Senior Superintendents to lead field operations for remodel, and upfit retail construction —with a focus on Walmart and similar large-scale big box remodels.

The Superintendent oversees all site construction activities, managing field and subcontractor personnel to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with exceptional quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities
• Manage project schedules, materials, and inspections to maintain progress and quality
• Oversee field operations to meet project goals and client expectations
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and change orders
• Lead daily and weekly meetings with trade partners and stakeholders
• Promote and enforce job site safety, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements (including stormwater compliance)
• Maintain organized and professional job sites and field offices
• Review job cost reports and assist the Project Manager with budget control
• Support pre-construction planning, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination
• Oversee final punch list completion and project closeout

Background Profile

• 3+ years of experience supervising retail remodel, upfit, or ground-up construction projects
• Hands-on leadership style with strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience with Walmart, Target, Publix, or similar large retail projects
• Proven track record in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and safety
• SWPPP certification preferred
• Wrike and Fieldwire software experience preferred
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and excellence in all aspects of construction execution
